Overview: Redemption Through the Blood of Jesus
What is redemption? Redemption means to buy back or pay the price for freedom. In biblical terms, it refers to God delivering us from sin, death, and the power of darkness through the blood of Jesus Christ. The Greek word often used for redemption is “apolutrōsis”, which literally means a ransom paid to set someone free. Why Redemption Was Needed • Humanity was enslaved to sin because of the fall (Romans 3:23). • Sin brings separation from God and leads to spiritual death (Romans 6:23). • A price had to be paid for our freedom—and that price was Jesus' blood. How Redemption Was Accomplished • Jesus Christ became the substitute for humanity. Through His death on the cross, He paid the ransom to release us from the curse of sin and reconcile us to God. Key Scriptures on Redemption Ephesians 1:7 (NIV) • “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” • 🔹 This verse ties redemption directly to Jesus’ blood and emphasizes it as a gift of grace. ________________________________________ Colossians 1:13–14 • “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” • 🔹 Redemption is a rescue operation—bringing us out of Satan’s dominion and into the Kingdom of Christ. ________________________________________ 1 Peter 1:18–19 • “...you were redeemed from the empty way of life... with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” • 🔹 Not by silver or gold—but through Jesus, the perfect and sinless Lamb. ________________________________________ Titus 2:14 • “...who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own…” • 🔹 Redemption not only saves us, it also purifies and sets us apart for God’s purpose. ________________________________________ Revelation 5:9 • “You are worthy… because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.” • 🔹 Jesus’ blood purchased people from all nations—fulfilling the plan of salvation for the whole world.

Overview: Justification through the Blood of Jesus
Justification is a legal term meaning to be declared righteous or acquitted of guilt. In God’s courtroom, those who trust in Jesus are no longer condemned, because the penalty for their sin has been paid in full by Christ. 🗝️ In simple terms: Justification = Just-as-if-I’d-never-sinned 🔑 Why We Need Justification • All people are guilty of sin and fall short of God’s standard (Romans 3:23). • The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). • God is holy and just—He cannot overlook sin—but He also loves us and made a way through Jesus. ✝️ How Are We Justified? We are justified by grace, through faith, because of the blood of Jesus. Justification is: • Not earned by works (Titus 3:5) • Not based on personal merit or religion • A gift of grace received by faith alone 📜 Key Scriptures on Justification Romans 5:9 (NIV) • “Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him!” • 🔹 Jesus' blood is the basis of our justification. His sacrifice satisfies God's justice. ________________________________________ 2. Romans 3:24–26 • “…and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus…” • 🔹 Justification is an act of grace, not something we earn. Galatians 2:16 • “...a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ…” • 🔹 Paul clarifies that the law (rules, rituals, religion) cannot justify—only faith in Christ can. ________________________________________ Titus 3:7 • “So that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” • 🔹 Justification gives us legal standing as God’s children and eternal security. Isaiah 53:11 (Prophecy of Christ) • “By His knowledge My righteous Servant will justify many, and He will bear their iniquities.” • 🔹 Jesus’ role as Savior and Substitute was prophesied long before the cross.

Overview: Sanctification through the Blood of Jesus
What is Sanctification? Sanctification means to be set apart for God’s purpose and made holy. It is both a position (who we are in Christ) and a process (how we grow in Christ). Sanctification is a work of God that begins at salvation and continues throughout our lives. Through the blood of Jesus, believers are purified, consecrated, and empowered to live holy lives. 🔑 Why We Need Sanctification • We are saved from sin but must also be separated unto God. • Sin defiles us; sanctification cleanses and prepares us for service and intimacy with God. • God’s will for every believer is holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:3). ✝️ How Are We Sanctified? We are sanctified through: • The blood of Jesus (Hebrews 13:12) • The Word of God (John 17:17) • The Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:2) 📜 Key Scriptures on Sanctification by the Blood Hebrews 13:12 (NIV) • “And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through His own blood.” • 🔹 Jesus’ suffering and blood sacrifice sanctify believers—making us spiritually clean and set apart. ________________________________________ 1 Corinthians 6:11 • “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” • 🔹 Sanctification follows salvation and is the mark of a transformed life. ________________________________________ 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24 • “May God Himself… sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless…” • 🔹 God desires complete sanctification—spirit, soul, and body. ________________________________________ 1 Peter 1:2 • “…who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God… through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with His blood…” • 🔹 The Spirit and the blood work together to sanctify us.

Overview: Victory Over the Enemy Through the Blood of Jesus
What Does Victory Over the Enemy Mean? As believers, we face a real spiritual enemy—Satan—whose goal is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But through the blood of Jesus, we are given authority, protection, and power to overcome every tactic of the devil. ________________________________________ ✝️ The Blood: Our Spiritual Weapon The blood of Jesus is not only the means of our forgiveness but also our defense and offense in spiritual warfare. It: • Disarms Satan (Colossians 2:15) • Cleanses our conscience (Hebrews 9:14) • Declares us righteous (Romans 5:9) • Grants us boldness before God and victory over the devil 📜 Key Scripture: Revelation 12:11 (NIV) “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” 🔹 This verse shows the three-fold victory of believers: 1. By the blood (our spiritual authority) 2. By our testimony (our spoken faith) 3. By our surrender (willingness to follow Christ no matter the cost) 💥 Other Key Scriptures Colossians 2:14–15 “[Jesus] disarmed the powers and authorities… triumphing over them by the cross.” 🔹 On the cross, Jesus defeated Satan’s power, rendering the enemy’s accusations powerless. ________________________________________ Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority… over all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” 🔹 Believers now walk in Jesus’ authority, not their own. ________________________________________ Ephesians 6:11–13 “Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes…” 🔹 Our spiritual armour is empowered by the victory Jesus secured through His blood. ________________________________________ Romans 8:37 “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” 🔹 We don’t just survive—we conquer in Christ.
